This talk is a light hearted look at the rich history that is Long Island. Through an examination of the men and women who have walked this same land we get to see how this island fits into the fabric of out nation's history. From the island the Native Americans called "Paumanauk" to the island the English simply called "Long", the people who have lived and worked here have left a past of which we can be very proud.
Long Island has signers of the Declaration of Independence, visits by Washington, Jefferson and Madison and other lesser known who have passed through our towns, villages and harbors.
