Women are almost invisible in most accounts of the Revolutionary War on Long Island, though they experienced more than seven years of British occupation, skirmishes, and calculated humiliations. This PowerPoint presentation sheds light onwhat life was like for women during the war (including those at Rock Hall) and how they coped. Natalie Naylor is a retired Hofstra University professor and author. She is a past president of the Nassau County Historical Society and the Friends of Rock Hall. Fee: $10; $8 seniors. Members free.
